Lihi Turjeman – Research Trip to Florence

On the 25th of October 2023, Lihi Turjeman embarked on an initial research trip to Florence. During this trip, she worked with the Shifting Vision head curator and MAP scholars to delve into the Medici archives, seeking both insight and creative inspiration from the rich tapestry of life, art and politics of 16th, 17th, and 18th century Florence. The primary objective of this research trip was to establish a solid foundation of knowledge about the Florentine Jewish Ghetto, laying the groundwork for the artist’s forthcoming creation in response to the themes uncovered within the archives.

Turjeman is one of six talented artists exploring the Medici archives. Regarding the “next steps,” Turjeman’s current focus will be on advancing her research and formulating a comprehensive plan for the creation of her upcoming artworks. The culmination of all the works by Ghetto Redux’s artists will be showcased in a highly anticipated exhibition set for 2025.
